Join us for an unforgettable overnight aboard USCG Cutter 37 (USCGC Taney), the last surviving warship from the attack on Pearl Harbor still afloat. Docked in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, this legendary vessel has served through World War II, Vietnam, and decades of Coast Guard rescue missions. Scouts will explore real crew quarters, engine rooms, command spaces, and the decks where Coast Guardsmen once stood watch over the Pacific.
As night falls, the ship takes on a whole new atmosphere. The Taney is known for its rich history… and a few stories that never made it into the official logs. Some visitors have reported footsteps in empty corridors, doors that close on their own, and the faint sound of clanking tools long after the workday is done. Nothing scary — just the kind of harmless, unexplained moments you’d expect from a ship that’s seen nearly a century of service and thousands of sailors passing through.
Scouts will participate in hands‑on maritime activities, learn shipboard skills, and experience what life was like for the Coast Guard crew who lived and worked aboard this floating piece of American history. After exploring the decks and compartments, we’ll settle in for a unique sleepover in the crew bunks — surrounded by the echoes of the past and the gentle sway of the harbor.
This overnight blends history, adventure, and a touch of mystery, making it one of the most memorable experiences a Cub Scout can have.
All participants must be 8 years of age or older. Due to strict capacity limits aboard the vessel, we ask that families register only their Scout and one adult partner. Registration for a Scout without an adult partner is allowed if arrangements have been made in advance with your Den Leads.
