Pack 289 Fall 2025 Campout

Camping is a critical part of the scouting experience. Cub scout camping is unique in that it is “family-style,” allowing scouts, their parents, and siblings to fully participate and enjoy the great outdoors regardless of whether this is your 1st or 101st campout. 

The Pack works to make camping accessible to all scouts and their families. If you have any questions about camping or need assistance or accommodation in preparing for or  attending campouts, please reach out to your den leader or any Pack 289 Committee Member and we will do our best to help so that we can all “be prepared” to have a great experience! 

Total Capacity: We currently have reserved spots for 30 people on Friday night and 60 people on Saturday. We will increase this number as needed. 

Camping: This event is family camping, meaning that all families must sleep in tents with only their own family members. The campsite the Pack will be staying at is Heron Lookout. 

Parking: Loading and unloading is allowed at the site. Parking will be in a gravel lot or pasture near the kiosk at the entry of the campground. The road to the campsite may be closed to vehicles starting at 10:30 AM. Since this is after the arrival time for Saturday scouts, you will need to unload in the parking lot and carry your gear to the campsite. We will try to make wagons available.  

Cost: Webelos and AOLs camping two nights is $16 per person. The cost is $8 per person for all other attendees. 

If your scout wishes to do the ropes course, the price is $30 (Wolves-AOL only).  Adults are $58.

Fishing: Fishing will be available at the site and the Pack intends to do an hour of fishing. Please bring any fishing gear you own, including any you might be able to share.

Outlets: There will be a limited number of power outlets available at the pavilion being rented on Saturday for the Pack.

Behavior Policy: Please discuss with your scout that living up to the Scout Oath and Law is expected at all Pack 289 Events or events attended with Pack 289.
